May Plant Sale at Hawkwood Nursery

Sunday 23 May, Hawkwood Nursery, 12pm-4pm

While we’ve been working alongside volunteers and trainees throughout the pandemic, it’s been well over a year since we we’ve been able to open to the public. While we’re not quite yet returning to our Open Days, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be holding a Plant Sale at our Chingford growing site on Sunday 23 May 2021.

We will have a wide range of vegetable, herb, salad, flower and fruit plants for sale, as well as bags of compost. Our farm stall will be stocked with local, organic produce as well as solidarity goods from further afield.

Site tours

If you’d like the chance for a look around the 12-acre site, you can also book a place on one of three site tours (tickets are free but will help us manage numbers through the day).

1pm site tour: Introduction to Hawkwood. Learn about our history and how we grow food for our Waltham Forest box scheme, local restaurants and shops.

2pm site tour: Site design past and present. Learn about the design stories of our site, from our beginnings to our future plans – including how pollinators and biodiversity are key.

3pm site tour: What’s growing at Hawkwood. A tour with a horticulture focus, as we share what’s being planted this month.

We request all visitors to adhere to social distancing guidelines and ask you to please limit your time on site so we can avoid overcrowding.

Directions to our Hawkwood site including bus, rail and river-cycle routes are here. Parking available at the site.
