September Open Day and Plant Sale

Sunday 24 September – Plants and Compost

We’re holding a Plant Sale at our Hawkwood growing site, taking a look ahead to the coming colder months, with an opportunity to buy seedlings to plant for winter.

From mustards and rocket to endive, kale, and chard, there are many choices when it comes to keeping your garden and your plate green over the coming cold months! As well as keeping up your vitamin and mineral intake for fighting winter illnesses, their fresh green leaves are a reminder and a harbinger of the next growing season – and they give you an early spring harvest too if you let some plants grow through.

We will have a range of vegetable, herb and salad plants for sale, as well as bags of compost. Our farm stall will be stocked with local, organic produce as well as solidarity goods from further afield.

Timetable for the day

Open Day 12-4pm. We’ll be inviting visitors to make a suggested donation of a few ££ when they come to help cover the costs of running the open days. Although we can take card payments, we love cash if you can bring it.

Farm stall (stocked with compost, seasonal produce and preserved goods) and refreshments (coffee, cake) available all day, alongside lunch served 12.30-2pm.

Taproom bar: Serving chilli stout, among other home-brewed delights!

Plant stall  – everything must go… into the ground! Plenty of plugs and seedlings, fruit and herbs at bargain prices, there’s still time to get planting for this growing season.
