What’s in the bags this week – 18 April

Standard vegetable bags have Alouette red potatoes, parsnips (Devon), carrots, onions, spinach (Norfolk), beetroot, celeriac (Lincs) salad mixed leaves (Chingford).  No potato bags have spring onions instead of onions, swede instead of celeriac, leeks instead of spinach, and stir fry greens (Chingford).

Large vegetable bags have Alouette red potatoes, parsnips (Devon), green curly kale (Essex), onions, carrots, brown mushrooms, leeks, mixed salad (Norfolk), beetroot (Lincs), stir fry greens (Chingford). No potato bags have Purple Sprouting Broccoli (Essex).

Medium vegetable bags have Alouette red potatoes (Devon), onions, leeks, brown mushrooms (Norfolk), mixed salad leaves (Chingford), swede (Lincs). No potato bags have Pak Choi (Essex).

Small vegetable bags have Alouette red potatoes (Devon), carrots (Norfolk), spring garlic (Chingford), Purple Sprouting Broccoli or Pak Choi, Kale (Essex). No potato bags have beetroot instead of kale and white mushrooms (Essex).

Standard fruit bags have bananas (Dominican Republic), avocado, blood oranges, grapefruit (Spain), Rhubarb (Chingford).

Medium fruit bags have bananas (Dominican Republic), blood oranges (Spain), kiwi (Italy), Rhubarb (Chingford).

Small fruit bags have lemons, blood oranges (Spain), Rhubarb (Chingford).

 

Where does our produce come from? We get our produce from Hughes Organics (Norfolk), Sarah Green (Essex), Brockmans Farm (Kent) and from organic wholesaler Langridge (especially non-UK fruit). We aim to contribute 20% of the produce in our bags from either Hawkwood Plant Nursery (Chingford), or our farm starters; London Grown (Haringey), Shannon (Ilford), Primrose Organic farm (Herts). Contents may vary due to availability.
