This introductory 5 week course is for anyone who is thinking about working as a gardener or making some changes to their home garden, but who lacks the experience or confidence and wants to begin to develop a range of basic and technical skills. The main focus will be food production. Learning is assessed through the development of a course portfolio which allows for reflection on theoretical and practical learning and an opportunity for guided input into your gardening activity elsewhere.

When: Every Monday and Wednesday 10am - 1pm, December 9 - January 24 (there is a Holiday break from December 23 - January 5)

Venue: The course will take place at a Community Garden in Newham where there is a classroom and a working garden that will be used for practical sessions. 2 sessions will be at Hawkwood Community Plant Nursery, in Chingford, Northeast London. Learning will be guided informative lectures, interactive and practical.

This free course is only available to those on Jobseekers allowance, there is an additional £10 materials charge for all participants. Booking is through Organiclea course registration.
