A workers' cooperative growing food on London's edge in the Lea Valley

Harvest Feast

The future of food: community control or corporate control?
To mark World Food Day, join us in celebrating our local food production and connecting it to the global food picture. Come and enjoy a sumptuous supper of locally sown, grown, picked and prepared delicious food. We will be using as much produce from Hawkwood and local growers as we possibly can for a surprise autumn warming menu!  Feasting will be followed by a discussion on the future of food: community control or corporate control? Looking at food production in London and how groups are growing in unusual spaces, and how we can challenge the ever-present threat of genetically modified big-business-controlled food.
£10 for 3 course meal; wine, beer and freshly pressed juice on sale. We need to know numbers so we’re asking you to pay in advance to book your place! – pop into the Hornbeam or Hawkwood, or send your name and cheque (payable to Organiclea) to Marlene, 458 Hoe St, Walthamstow E17 9AH.
