April Open Day

Sunday 30 April – Plants and Compost
The growing season is well underway and our April open day features our biggest plant sale of the year, as well as lots of other activities. Come and get seedlings, plug plants and compost to help get your food garden flourishing over the coming months!

Timetable for the day

Kids Kitchen: Alongside our open day, an opportunity to join a session where families get to cook together, harvesting veg straight from the soil, share the food and exchange growing tips! Session 10.30am to 2pm, cost £6. Pre-booking essential, register here.

Open Day 12-4pm. We’ll be inviting visitors to make a suggested donation of a few ££ when they come to help cover the costs of running the open days. Although we can take card payments, we love cash if you can bring it.

Farm stall (stocked with compost, seasonal produce and preserved goods) and refreshments available all day, lunch served 12.30-2pm.

Plant stall with salad plugs and seedlings of our regular favourites – tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, kale, peppers, chard, sweetcorn, beans… Fruit and herbs and plenty of advice too.

Bargain Bag-Your-Own Compost: To help kickstart your growing season, we will be selling Soil Association approved Green Waste Compost at a bargain price, provided you fill your own sacks! Help will be on hand for this task. If you can’t bring your own bags we can supply them for 50p each.

1-3pm Drumming Workshop: an uplifting drop-in session of African drumming, song and movement led by Mbilla Arts

1pm Planting and aftercare surgery: drop-in learning/advice space alongside the plant sale, to help you get your seedlings established and ensure a good harvest.
