Sustainable Beekeeping courses
We are running two weekend courses this season.
Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May 2016, 10 am-5.30 pm both days.
Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September 2016, 10 am-5.30 pm both days.
This course is for anyone from beginners to experienced beekeepers who are interested in learning about more sustainable methods of beekeeping.
The first day of the course will take a look at the fascinating world of the honeybee, introducing key concepts in their biology and ecology.
Day Two will focus on how to keep bees in Warre hives and the practice of keeping bees within an ethical framework.
You will need: Good boots, clothes for all weather, paper, pens, a veil if you have one.
The course is taught by Sean Hearn and is held at Hawkwood Nursery with a mostly classroom sessions and some practical/observation work in the Hawkwood apiary.
To book a place, we are asking for a £70 (or £35 for one day) non-refundable fee.
