Sustainable Beekeeping course:

Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March 2015,10 am-5.30 pm both days.

This course is for anyone from beginners to experienced beekeepers who are interested in learning about more sustainable methods of beekeeping.

The first day of the course will take a look at the fascinating world of the honeybee, introducing key concepts in their biology and ecology.

Day 2 will focus on how to keep bees in Waree hives and the practice of keeping bees within an ethical framework.

You will need: Good boots, clothes for all weather, paper, pens, a veil if you have one.

The course is taught by Sean Hearn and  is held at Hawkwood Nursery with a mostly classroom sessions and some practical/observation work in the Hawkwood apiary.

To book a place, we are asking for a £70 (or £35 for one day) non-refundable fee.

If you have previously attended one of our biology days and just want to attend the beekeeping practice day, please do get in touch through email. There would be a reduced cost for attending just the one day.
