The community-based solar panel project is up and running with a new array of panels on the roof of the south-facing warehouse at Hawkwood Nursery, exporting renewable energy to the national grid.
Organiclea joined together with several other local Waltham Forest organisations – Forest Recycling Project, The HEET Project, Hornbeam Centre – to form an Industrial and Provident Society as a co-operative (GREEN Ltd. — Growing Resilient and Energy Efficient Neighbourhoods). GREEN launched a community Share Offer for investment in a 9.9kW array of solar photovoltaic under the government’s feed-in tariff programme.
