‘Tis the Season: Gifts

‘Tis the Season: Gifts

You’re part of the Organiclea local food community.  You’re enlightened and of course won’t be drawn into the buying frenzy that appears at this time of year… But you want to show your friends and family how wonderful they are.  What to do??!

Well we can help solve your dilemma!  Anything you buy from us supports enterprise at the heart of your community, and has been produced with minimum carbon and waste.

A majestic winter squash from the Saturday stall or the Hawkwood farm stall from  £2.

Keeps well uncut and looks great for a fully consumable gift that won’t be left lying around after Christmas!

Jams, chutneys and juices on the Saturday stall at the Hornbeam  – from £3.

Produced by workers and volunteers at Hawkwood and Hornbeam using fruit from our scrumping project and produce grown at Hawkwood.  More stall details here

A month on our mid-week vegetable or fruit scheme – from £20

Choose from small or large, fruit or vegetables and receive a card and voucher confirmation of a month’s supply of produce.  Contact Rebecca box@organiclea.org.uk, and find out more about the box scheme here

Gift a tree as a present or memorial and help us plant over 200 fruit trees in the London Borough of Waltham Forest – £20

Your gift pays for the purchase and planting of one fruit tree at Hawkwood community growing site. The gift includes a planting certificate, simple woodcarved label attached to the tree and invitation to a seasonal fruit celebration in the young tree’s early years!  More details here

And if you don’t fancy getting into a cooking frenzy over Christmas then the Hornbeam café is offering frozen vegetarian nut roast dinner and mince pies – more details on the Hornbeam website.

The Saturday stall will be serving mulled wine on 4th, 11th and 18th December so come along for some winter warming!
