If you have 5 minutes
You don’t need loads of time on your hands to get involved and get growing. There are loads of things that are quick to do and keep us ticking along. Or get out there with some seed bombs and start spreading plant life around!
Update our price check spreadsheet: We want to be sure we are providing good value local produce so it’s really helpful to be able to compare our prices to other suppliers. A bit of internet research or a couple of prices jotted down in your local shop is really useful!
Download and print fliers to share: for you, your local community centre or school, or come and pick some to leaflet your street. You can also come and be part of the leafletting gang once a month from the Hornbeam.

Throw a seed bomb: Seed bombs are a way to distribute seeds by wrapping them in a mixture of clay and compost. This protects the seeds by preventing them from drying out in the sun, getting eaten by birds, or from blowing away.
Seed bombs are scattered on the ground, not planted. They’re great for bringing life to derelict ground and places with dry thin soil – so they are good for guerilla gardening.
Seed bombs are easy to sow secretly or chuck over fences… When sufficient rain has permeated the clay, the seeds inside sprout and are aided by the nutrients and beneficial soil microbes surrounding them.
Make your seed bombs by mixing 1 part seeds with 5 parts clay
and 3 parts compost, adding water as necessary to make a good muddy clay consistency.
Roll up the mixture into little balls. Allow to dry in a cool dry place for about 3 days.
Then throw them in sorry looking places and wait for a splatter of rain
