Forest school is a type of outdoor education in which children (or adults) visit forests/woodlands, learning personal, social and technical skills. Forest schools are often ‘led by the child’s interests’ (child initiated learning) by comparison to other outdoor education which ‘starts with an issue agenda or problem for the children to investigate’. The main goals of forest schools in primary age children include encouraging curiosity and exploration with all of the senses, empowering children in the natural environment.

Children of all ages are welcome to join our forest school session which includes creative nature activities and walking around the woodland. Children under 6 must be accompanied. Forest school continues rain or shine, so please dress ready for the weather. We will then stop for a lunch with everyone from 1-2 pm. After lunch we will continue with woodland free play after lunch.
