Developing Practical Gardening Skills, NOCN Level 1 Award
(National Open College Network accreditation).
Every Friday afternoon, 1.30-4.30pm (with half term breaks) starts 1 March until 19 July 2013
This introductory course is for anyone who is thinking about working as a gardener or making some changes to their home garden, but who lacks the experience or confidence and wants to begin to develop a range of basic and technical skills. The main focus will be food production. Learning is assessed through the development of a course portfolio which allows for reflection on theoretical and practical learning and an opportunity for guided input into your gardening activity elsewhere.

Run in partnership with Community Learning Waltham Forest. Learning will take place at Hawkwood Community Plant Nursery, in Chingford, Northeast London, where there is a classroom and a working garden that will be used for practical sessions. Learning will be guided informative lectures, interactive and practical.

Price: £171 (Standard); £54 (discounted); free to those on Jobseekers allowance; (contact CLaSS for availability and fee structure guide). Additional £5 materials charge for all participants.
